CLEVER SLEAZOID was one of the first songs by Dir en grey that I had ever heard (along with umbrella, THE FINAL, and TAIYUO NO AO), and they showed me that just because Dir en grey is from Japan doesn't mean that they don't know how to make music that other people from different countries can like.
So, what is CLEVER SLEAZOID? One of Dir en grey's fastest, hardest songs to date. Kyo screams the vocals (save for the beuaitufl Japanese interlude towards the end of the song), and the rest of the band does a great job breathing life into this different musical direction that Dir en grey is taking.
The live tracks aren't really that, good, though, thus docking the score. Kyo only sings half of C, and GARBAGE and dead tree are mediocre at best.
However, this single is great because it shows how radically Dir en grey is chaning, and, in my opinion, it's for the better.

MY RATING: 4 out of 5
