2013-02-08 [Schlachter]: Hopefully design specs for EPnD can be put here along with concept art & the like so I can get an idea of what to develop...
2013-02-09 [Stephen]: Changed editing rights to all, otherwise not much can be added. xD
2013-02-09 [Schlachter]: Right lol...
By the way, I will have clearance for a domain by tomorrow morning UTC+4 to start building EPnD & bootstrapping other things to Elfpack if desired.
2013-02-09 [Stephen]: Mmm, I won't be free until tonight, I can discuss it more then. xD
2013-02-09 [Schlachter]: No problem, the task list has been set up for all to see. I will be busying myself with the larger part of the iceberg no one can really see... the magic is being concocted & focused XD... the show will begin...
2013-02-09 [GlassCasket]: Soo where should i put my name? O.o
2013-02-09 [Schlachter]: How do you want to help?
2013-02-09 [GlassCasket]: Well i can't write code...mostly cuz i don't know any...i can't draw worth a shit...uhhh how else can i help? xD
2013-02-09 [Schlachter]: You are a D&D expert; which is phenomenal (not a lot of people are). So you can either be involved as THE Concept Crew Leader (since it was mostly your idea haha I see it only as fitting) or you can manage things on both sides of the project (which is the job of a Game Designer): to ensure the theme remains within the Elfpack scope & worry about recruiting, marketing, look & feel, usability, ergonomics, features, etc. (i.e.: political aims of both Elfpack & EPnD).
2013-02-09 [GlassCasket]: Yeah let's uhh do that >.>
I suppose i could be the concept crew leader :P
2013-02-09 [Schlachter]: You got the job, congrats XD
2013-02-09 [GlassCasket]: Whoop whoop, i didn't even have to put in an application :D
2013-02-09 [Schlachter]: Accepted by default XD
A bit of an idea on what to expect for tasks & work: points 1 & 2 are very crucial for now as I cannot really start hardcore development until we have a proof of concept of what it is that is going to be made. This will be your job to design what type of character can (or can't) be in the game. It would be nice to get one of the conservative lore experts of Elfpack to team up with you as the Leading Game Designer to help you adjust & decide on a base frame for EPnD.
Also, we need to discuss meetings & schedules. This is mostly an online thing for now, but really... prepare for anything, who knows where this can go?
2013-02-10 [GlassCasket]: Not entirely sure how people are going to make rolls and what not... >.>
2013-02-10 [Schlachter]: Random number generator. Don't worry about that type of stuff, there are a lot of techniques to make online dice & many other things. For example, there could be a "roll" button & that would generate a random number from 1 to n where n is the number of sides on your dice. You can even specify the dice type for types of rolls.
Just try to cough up the interface you believe should be used. There is code to do just about anything under the sun.
2013-02-11 [GlassCasket]: herm...soooo i think i have a basic concept of what Character Races should be involved... I think i might have a clue on how to set up classes and what not as well. Let me know when you are open to hearing it.
2013-02-11 [Schlachter]: Anytime man, anytime... I read everything lol
2013-02-20 [Stephen]: I'm keeping an eye on this, too, but I probably won't give much input unless I see something to comment on or I'm asked.
I'm getting spread pretty thin now. :P
2013-02-20 [Schlachter]: This will be mostly off-site development. Currently it is just me & [GlassCasket] so the pace will be decided by him.
I'm getting the same problem XD
2013-02-20 [GlassCasket]: Well i am lazy so... xD the pace will probably be very slow and painful xD in fact i have to restart thinking about races and classes soon xD i've actually been pretty busy too.
2013-02-20 [Schlachter]: lol I figured. No problem... we'll get it done someday lol
It's not as pressing as the design updates, but it's time will come...
