She was having the best time of her life, not only was she having fun but she was spending time with the love of her life. They got to the restaurant and it was absolutely breath taking and oh so romantic. The over head lights were so dim they looked like stars shining in the sky. There were crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and there was a band playing old love song. This was not only a beautiful restaurant, it was a restaurant for lovers.
They were seated at a table for two in the back so they could watch all the beautiful women and handsome men mingle, laugh and dance. Whisper sweet nothings in each other's ears. Sipping champagne and falling in love all over again.
Jaquilynn sighed happily for all the couples in the beautiful place. At the slight noise Jeramiah looked at her and smiled. He took her hand in his, brought it to his lips and kissed it. He felt her shiver, Whether it was from excitement or cold he did not know. Looking up at her, he saw her smile, and felt himself smiling too. He wanted to tell her, but he didn't want to ruin the rest of the night, He would tell her after they danced.
The food was exquisite, they barely had to chew it. It practically melted in their mouths. He ordered a steak that was marinated in rich red wine and so many spices he felt as though his taste buds were dancing. And she ordered chicken that had been marinated in white wine with her favorite steamed vegetables. They both, being under the age of twenty-one, ordered soda.
Being too stuffed to eat dessert, they talked and laughed. Then finally he asked her if she wanted to dance.
"I'd love to Jeramiah." Jaquilynn said as she watched him get up and extend his hand to her; Just like in the old movies that she loves to watch. He surprised her like that sometimes, being such a gentleman made her feel like a lady from the 1800's.
He lead her out to the dance floor and placed one hand on her hip, her free hand going to his shoulder; She smiled up at him and they danced. Nothing fancy, just the basic box step, But they made it look like the easiest thing in the world. The other couples around them were saying that they looked as though they were floating across the floor instead of dancing across it. Jeramiah saw them stop one by one, watching them and he knew that it was almost time.
She must be dreaming! She felt as though she were. Her eyes closed, her head resting against his chest. She wasn't even listening to the music, she was listening to the beat of his heart, and with every beat it was telling her that he loved her and he always would. She smiled to herself, she was soo happy, she had to tell him; after they finished dancing.


"Jaquilynn." She looked up at him and she realized that they were no longer dancing, they were just standing in the middle of the dance floor, center of attention. Everyone else had stopped dancing too. She began to blush and looked away. "Jaquilynn." Jeramiah said again.
"Humm?" was all she could muster. She was embarrassed and he knew it.
"Sweat heart, I have to tell you something.. And I..I can't do it if you're looking away." She could hear the nervous-ness in his voice, so she looked at him and she saw that he was smiling. That sweet infectious smile that she fell in love with so long ago, that smile that made her smile whether she wanted to or not, that smile that said he had something important to say and she intended to listen.
"What is it?" she felt her heart start to beat faster.
"I love you so much," he paused to get a breath and try to remember what he had thought about saying, but suddenly it had completely escaped his mind. Looks like he'd just have to wing it.
"I love you too." She said as he took her hand and sent a quick prayer to his Lord above.
He knelt in front of her, looked her in the eyes and said, "For my whole life you've been my neighbor, my class mate and mostly my friend. But now you are the love of my life. I love everything about you, from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet, I love you. I always have, and I always will." His eyes were misting and his voice was shaking with emotion; Tears were streaming down her cheeks as he reached into the breast pocket of his jacket and pulled out a little box. She gasped, and her hands flew to her face to wipe away the tears. Jeramiah continued, "Jaquilynn, will you make my dreams come true and be with me for the rest of our days? Will you marry me and make me the happiest man in the world?"
It was her turn to have a shaky voice as she said, "Yes! Yes, I will. Jeramiah I will!" With trembling hands he slipped the ring on her finger and kissed it. Standing he engulfed her in his arms and spun her on the dance floor. The other couples, who were forgotten, applauded and bravoed the young couple as they left the restaurant hand in hand.


"Now I have something to tell you. Its not nearly as special as what you told me.." She stopped and looked away not knowing how to finish, how to tell him.
He smiled at her, tilted her chin up so she would look at him. "What is it?" He watched her think, he watched her eyes watch him and he just smiled more.
Eyes watering and bottom lip trembling she said it; "I'm ready t..to..." Her voice was getting softer and softer. "make love with you." Jeramiah looked at her dazed, not knowing what to say at all. He grabbed her hand as a light pink blush highlighted her cheeks as she leaned in and kissed him on the lips.
