Snow in the Desert

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and everyone knows its one of the hottest places in the United States. It gets to 120 degrees every summer and stays warm all year round.

Today 12/19/06 is snowed here in Las Vegas! It was really exciting that it snowed here in the desert!

This is an aloe vera plant, a plant common here in the desert. See the snow?
Here's the aloe vera plant again with snow on it.
These are the mountains near my home with snow on them. And they've never had snow on them before!
Here are the mountains again with snow on them.
Here are those mountains again with the snow on them. I think they look so pretty!
Here you can see the desert in the foreground and in the background the snowy mountains.
Here it is again, I was just really excited and couldn't stop taking pictures!
Here is my car (a 93 Buick Century) with snow on it! I don't think its ever had snow on it before!
Here's both our vehicles with snow on them.
The bushes in our yard with snow sprinkled on them.
This is our neighbors yard and he's the only one with grass, so I took a pic of the snow on the grass.
Our truck with snow on it. Its funny, we bought this truck when we still lived in Minnesota and it never got to see the snow. When it finally sees the snow its in the desert!
This is our wall in our backyard with snow on it!
This is the street behind my house. These are the red mountains that all the locals like to bike through and take hikes on. They obviously can't do that today since for the first time in a LONG time there is snow on them!H
Here are the red mountains again from a distance. Note the palm trees, they look so funny with snow in the background.

A cactus! WITH SNOW ON IT!!!!! How odd.....
These are the mountains again. In this picture, it looks like I'm in Europe! But nope, I'm in the Las Vegas desert taking pictures of the snow.
A large cactus in my neighbors front yard with snow on it!
Here is the park down the street, covered in snow.
This is the street I live on, all snowy. I took this picture before sunrise before the snow started melting.
A tree in my back yard all snowy.
Here's the park again covered in snow.

2006-12-19 [Hedda]: I guess the "snow"-part is more exciting than the "desert"-part for you... <img:cheshmak.gif>
