I walk through the obsidian fields of poppy
Peering into each flower I pass
An image flickers amidst their depth
A mere reflection? Or an echo of a memory past.
I come upon small Blue flowers
all but hidden in the broken darkness.
I cradle their velvet petals with delicate fingers
Show me little one, What is in your heart?
The flower, I pluck from its long golden stem
And molten vision floods upon the ground
the amount of vision seems endless
painting the obsidian fields an emerald green
whilst washing away the darkness to reveal
purple bruised stormclouds snaked through with cracks of turquiose.
The promise of brightness to come.
Rolling, boiling they fill the sky
Raining down tears as the heavens repent.
I raise my face to the storm-torn sky
and from my lips a feral cry.
I wait in silence still as stone.....
And who to greet but my love alone!
For truth to meet in flesh this time.
Rain pouring down,
a shy, hopeful smile alights my face.
Could this be true love? Is this really real?
He takes my hand, and we dance for all time.
Sometimes together and others apart, yet as one. One step ahead, the other close behind.
And then the glory fades, the rain finaly slows, and daylight breaks, dries out our clothes.
A pause in step, a skip in the beat, now in arythmic time, an illusion to keep.
A loss of the line, my feet swept away, now falling through the light. And I open my eyes.
