John Henry is the title of They Might Be Giants' 5th full-length album. It was released on September 13, 1994.

The album was the first TMBG album featuring a live band. For this one, the band featured Tony Maimone and Graham Maby on bass, Kurt Hoffman on keyboards and Brian Doherty on drums. This led to a heavier sounding album than previous works, leaving some longtime fans displeased. Some even boycotted the band's live shows.

A bootleg demo tape of the recording sessions was leaked in 1993. High-fidelity versions of seven of these tracks were released by the band on the band's official podcast, Episode 27A.

The album spent only 4 weeks on the Billboard 200; however it peaked at #64, the band's highest placing on the chart to date. "Snail Shell" was released as a single and spent 8 weeks on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart, reaching #19. In addition, "AKA Driver" was released as a promo single but failed to chart.

An EP of b-sides entitled Back to Skull was released on August 16, 1994, before the album itself.
