New Salem may seem as a normal town but really it's full of secretd and magic. New Salem is full of witches, well not really there are only 12 families that live on one street of New Salem and there are known as the secret circle or the choosen.
But 17 years ago there was a accident and most of the chidlren of the 12 families lost there parents and where forced to live with aunties, uncles or grandparents. Thats when the witches of the 12 families stopped useing magic...well not to older one like grandparents and great aunties. But now the chidlren have found there families book of shadows (spell books) and they are tapping into the power, each of them had a genstone that powers them like jade, tigers eye,amethyst, garnet etc.
They use the power of the elements for help to make spells but most of all they need each other because with out the circle...John Black's crystal skull could fall into the wrong hands. The secret circle are looking for the 'tools' of there ancestors, the ones that came to New Salem to get away from teh witch hunters, because they want to use it power or see if they can handle the power.

But heres the problem...there are only 11 teen witches in the circle and they need another witch who was apart of the 12 founders of the circle. Can the circle wait for little Sue, who is 5 years old, to grow up? No they can't but when a new girl Cassie Blake and her mother comes to New Salem to live with Old Grandma Blake, Cassie's grandma. Can Cassie help the circle? Who knows?
