The Begining


It was Feb 17th
I had just gotten out of Johnson County Jail
As I walked up the street to 13 Highway
I could'nt help but be happy.
I had just spent 5 months and 17 days in jail.
5 months 11 days in Ray County Jail,
the rest in Johnson County Jail.
The Problem was, I was stuck in
Warrensburg Mo. and I did'nt know
anyone except an aunt I had'nt seen
for years. And also her two children
who I had not seen in just as long.
I made it to 13 Highway, and stopped
in at a Phillips 66 gas Station. I was only going
in to find directions since I came out of jail
with just as much money that I went in with.
None. I had nothing but the shorts and short sleave
shirt I was wearing, along with a MP3 player with no
headphones and a cracked screen. The gas station
attendant was a woman of approximately 36, but it can
be hard to tell sometimes.
"Can I help you?" she asked
"Yeah, I was wondering if I could see a phone book?"
She happily obliged and handed me a phone book
for the area. I automaticaly looked up my Aunt Beckys
phone number.
"Can I use the phone?" I asked her.
She said it was allright and handed me the phone.
I was the only one in that gas station at the time.
My aunt did'nt answer. Go figure.
A lady came in as I asked the attendant if she
knew where the street the phone book gave me
was. She said she did but she had a hard time
explaining how to get there. I had allready told her
I came from jail and I was stuck in that town when
I lived in Richmond Mo. a 45 minute drive. She asked
the woman who just came in if she knew where the
street was, and she did. She quickly drew me up
a rough map on the back of a reciept paper and I added
my aunts phone number. The clerk offered to give me a ride
when she got off, was any minute, just whenever the next
attendant got there to relieve her of her duties. I said that would be
great.
"Would you happen to have a smoke?" I asked?
"What do you smoke?" she asked in return.
I told her "Anything realy."
and she asked if Marlboro Reds were fine
I said they were and she handed me a brand new pack,
free of charge. I could'nt help but thank her over and over
again for how nice she was being to me, and she said it
was fine.We stepped out to have a smoke.
"Now Im gonna have to drop you off a little down the road from
the street you're going too, 'cause if my old man sees another
guyin my truck he will like, freak on me." She said as we were
smoking. I said that was fine, and just then a customer walked inside.
She put out her ciggarrette and went inside. I noticed a guy smoking
next to the door on the other side. I started talking to him and told him
my story. I found out he went to college in town at CMSU, and then her offered
me a ride. I said that would be great and we went inside so he could buy some smokes.
He got his Ciggarrettes and I told the gas station lady he was
giving me a ride and thanked her again. I showed him the map and we went
on our way. we talked some more untill we arrived at my aunts house.
"I'll wait right here untill you get inside," He told me, "just in case noone
is home."
I knocked on my aunts door and noone answered. Just friggin great.
I got in the guys car and we started off. Somehow down the road we
started talking of wherewolves and vampires. For some reason I told him
I would much rather be a vampire. what happened next was verry surprising.
"I can help with that." The stranger said.
And as I looked at him I noticed some verry long teeth
poking ever so slightly over his bottom lip, and a fierce red glow to his eyes...
