Long ago, In a village now reduced to ash, lived a girl, Whose name has been lost to history. She was no older than twelve. She often went out into the woods, to where the berries grew, to pick berries. She was often scolded for this by her mother, She always said the wood weren't safe, but its the woods that eventually saved this girls life. One spring, when she knew the berries were ripe enough to pick, she suck out. While she was gone her home was invaded, a group that started out a bandits, trashed the village. The killed all of the men, and either raped and murdered all the women. And most of the Children under a certain age were taken into slavery. Anyone older than ten were butchered. The girl heard the screaming coming from her village, and ran to see what was going on, when she saw what was happening, she froze, that was when she was spotted, one of the men caught her and beat her until she was close to death, before she took her last breath, the woods that her mother said we're so dangerous, took pity on her, and turned her into a very beautiful cherry tree. It is said that sometimes, if you look hard enough, the girl is seen sitting beneath the tree, smiling, Because she knows that one day she will be avenged. It is also said that she grants powers to those who are able to find her, In hopes that the bandits will get whats coming to them.
Now descendants of the group of bandits have become a horrible nation of imperials, who have taken over, becoming rich selling off slaves, They send groups of soldiers into small villages and take the children to sell off into slavery. They no longer kill the adults, the just take what the government decides the smaller villages owe them.
A small resistance, led by an runaway slave girl called Rayne has been formed, and are acting out against the Imperials, In order to free the slaves, and make the world livable again. They make frequent raids on the main castle to free slave, some join her cause, others run home. And so far, only a few of them have been granted powers by the young girl in the cherry tree.
