From me, to you -

Hello everyone, I'm [Stephen] and you have probably noticed me around in some way or another.

This will probably be a long post, but if you're interested in the well-being of Elfpack, please read it.

I've been reading a lot of diaries lately, and talking to members. People say Elfpack isn't doing well. They're right. It's not. Our memberbase is on the decline, and less people enter things.

The Council has been trying to come up with ideas and thoughts on how to turn things around, and they have provided me with so much help and I thank them from the bottom of my heart, but it's not working well. Not only that, but the Council itself is shrinking, and I no longer have the resources to keep everything on Elfpack running correctly.

Honestly, I'm running out of ambition, too. We went into this with ideas and concepts, but they aren't really playing out right. So, I'm asking for help from you guys, the members of this community.

Elfpack isn't going to "die". Even if there is no Council and nothing is ever updated, [Hedda] (probably, I can't speak on his behalf for certain) won't close the site. However, if you're interested in seeing things around here be alive again, then I request that you look at the page Redesigning Elfpack and give us ideas. Even if you think they're silly, or stupid, there's no harm in trying. If we don't try then in a year or so we're going to have half the memberbase we do now, and even less Council.

So, I ask you to look at that page and give us your ideas on how to make Elfpack into a better place for everyone.

PS: I invited everyone to the page, since some people don't have the news on watch.

Passwords

Recently, it has come to our attention that members will sometimes set a password for their wikipage, that is the same password that they use to log in. You should never do this, on any kind of wiki-page. If you give out that password, you are enabling people to gain access to your account, and even if you don't give it out there are staff members who can see all wikipages, and all wiki-passwords.

We're not saying the staff would misuse this, of course, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. If you have ever set your login password as a wiki password, please change your login password.

Any questions or concerns on this issue can be placed on the Guards page.

Happy New Years! <img:zabuN-gif.gif>

<img:stuff/aj/15609/2013hapbut.png>

Halloween has given its candy, the Thanksgiving turkeys are back in hibernation, the Christmas presents have all been opened, and with the passing of those holidays means one thing: 2012 has also ended, ushering in the New Year of 2013! <img:http://elftown.eu/img/mood/61513_1224163255.gif>

Most colleges (for us in America, I'm not sure of elsewhere, sorry!) will be back in session soon, and life will resume back to normal, but.. with new goals, ideals and aspiration of the New Year. Which, of course, we're all nosy and want to know what those are.
