Oh what a glance at this taunted mind must bring.
A feeble wreck of what was once to come,
Torn upon the bitter pages of malice and deceit.
And oh how the dream hath fallen.
Fallen before the stony walls of my grave.
Every stone lain by the failed realities, of beloved dreams
and sweet nightmares embrace.
To kiss the lips of those who have fallen.
To shun the lies of those who remain.
How many, like mine, are still alive?
How many souls, torn from the battles of old,
Steeped in lore and haunted truths,
Still blaze their fighting spirits upon this modern hell?
Lo, to seek the misty hills of old,
To feel thy ladies sweet embrace upon the winters cold.
It is but a dream, my fair child, a dream and nothing more.
Yet here I tread, across the snowy peaks.
Unto the end unknown, here I shall walk alone,
And through my silent battles, here I shall die alone.
