Not only is your friend not dead yet, she also doesn't know that she's gonna die. So while it's sweet and all that you care so much about your friend, there's also not a real problem there yet, so focus on the actual established problems.

2005-05-10 [Whim]: I want ONE artist so the art is consistant throughout the book. That ONE artist will need to do 16 different pieces for me. They don't have to be colored, because I can color them myself. I just at least eventually need no less than 16 pieces. Yes, it's a lot, but it's also going to be a professional project. I have no intention of halfassing it which is why I am more than willing to work with whoever the illustrator is and even pay them a portion of any profit I make.

2005-05-10 [Whim]: I need something sort of cartoonish, but at the same time I want a serious look. Think Cowboy Bebop or maybe even the batman cartoon from the 90s. Sure, they're cartoons and they're not always realistic looking, but it's always a believable look with not a lot of wacky faces.

2005-05-18 [Whim]: hehehe...well, yeah, that's because it's just online. If you were to ever want to publish, you'd have such a thick book that people wouldn't want to touch it. It'd be too intimidating of a read. of course, we've talked about this before, and you showed no interest in publishing it

2005-05-18 [RabidSphinx]: nope...none at all...and i prefere longer books to shorter ones...i just finished a 400 page book today....loved it...the whole series is 11 books or so long...some 300, some 800 pages long
2005-05-18 [Whim]: yes, but from a marketing point of view, you'd do better to sell smaller books since your readers would tend to be of a younger crowd, such as teens, and teens want books that are like 200-300 pages long. Anything more really is intimidating, so they'll be more likely to reject it. On top of that, more books means more money cause you can hook a lot of readers on the series so they'll not only buy the first book, but the second, third, fourth, etc.

2005-05-18 [Whim]: well, yeah, rainedrop, but that's not the point. My point was that if you were trying to market the book, then in order to make the most money, you'd do things to appease the teen crowds, even if you still said that it was an adult book.
